day 28: harry potter

no pictures today T_T we went to the post office after class to send boxes of stuff back. me and 2 other friends shared so the cost wasn't that heavy. our classmates mostly pay like 60-100,000won each. i paid bout 50,000won only for 10kg worth of stuff (because the textbooks are mega heavy)

then we headed to edae but it was way too hot to shop out on the streets so we had strawberry patbingsu at caffe bene.

then we caught  harry potter at night at megabox sinchon with the rest of the class. T____T i bawled when Fred died. i cried so badly because i remember how it was like reading bout his death in the book. and then i bawled again at Snape and Lily's part. i was like omggg snape and lily looked so good when they were kids. and Snape's love for Lily.. i can't comprehend it. Like his love for her is larger than anything else he can give or have...... if that makes sense. i just kept crying T___T idk what to say bout the movie thoguh i don't have much to complain about because i really love this book, it's one of my fav after Goblet of Fire. but catching it here in Korea kinda dampens the mood a little cos the koreans don't really understand the english they just read the sbutitles, i tried to read and i think it just doesn't seem to convey the movie well. also, i don't think they read the books do they?

day 27: 光化門

0after class i went back to dorm to get my money because i forgot to take them out in the morning T_T usually i wake up at like 8am and rush out for the shuttle bus by 840am. so jieying and yuting headed to gwanghwamun first and i went back to the dorm. it was SO hot today, as usual.

i took the bus alone and met them there. then we started searching for the famous place where we can eat 삼계탕 (ginseng chicken) and it was actually like a hanok village (traditional korean village) so there are different hanoks and you can just sit inside and eat your lunch. they only serve sam gye tang so...

samgyetang is not my kind of food T_T sadly. because i HATE the ginseng smell it's SO GROSS. i don't care that it's healthy or what i just can't take the smell. and then the soup was so oily because of the chicken. they gave us like ginseng wine (?) and my friends took it. i smell it and i was like oh no there is no way i'm gonna drink that.

during lunch two ladies (in their 40s or 50s) and one of them had a daughter, they were sitting next to us. when the food was being served, one of the lady rejected it and told the stuff to return it to the kitchen and heat it up again. she justp ut her palm over the samgyetang, then used her chopsticks and poke the chicken and ate a piece and said "it's cold, it won't be nice" i suppose the koreans know how to eat their food. but the staff looked angry. maybe because it's so troublesome, they have to squat down to serve the food inside the hanok.

the ladies tried t otalk to us a little. like the one who rejected the food could actually speak a little english. so when we looked lost they tried to tell us what this and that is and how we're suppose to eat it.

after lunch we headed to kyobo for stationery shopping! i actually think YP bookstore is better. Kyobo had way too many people.

had samgyupsal for dinner with jieying's buddy hahaha he's a really nice guy!

then we went drinking. this was yuting's tequilla sunrise.

mine was the best cos it taste like fruit juice :D it's raspberry margarita! (7000won)

after that because we wanted to try fruit soju so we went to this bar called "gaya" but because i stupidly left all my identification cards at home so they chased us out T_T we went to Wara Wara, got something to eat and drink and jieying's buddy taught us games that koreans play when they drink!

the night ended off quite badly. because one of us ended up puking INSIDE the cab and it was so horrible. because the other 2 girls (me and another girl) were already really giddy from the drinking, and we stil had to clean up her puke for her because she was soo gone to the valley of drunkness. T_T it was so gross eww i can't believe i actually cleaned up someone's puke. this is why i think drinking requires a LOT of responsibility. don't just drink for the sake of it! alcohol is evil and i hate alcohol (i just go for the experience, to know how it taste like. i never actually /enjoy/ drinking)

came home and just died on the bed. i didn't even shower lol.

day 26: dongdaemun!

first time going to dongdaemun! after class we went to Look Optical and 4 of them made their spectacles there. it's so cheap and FAST! my friend got his glasses within 15minutes. with the lens and all. and it's endorsed by 2pm and t-ara so i think lotsa people go there. the shop is huge and it has several levels.

after that we headed to dongdaemun to shop! but we're really stupid. good morning city and hello APM close on tuesdays so we only went to migliore to shop because doota's too expensive T_T

it was so scary okay. at level 4 (men's level) the guys just hard sell all the way. keep persuading u to buy. and one of them attempted to shake hands with my friend. so she just responded but then HE WON'T LET GO OF HER HAND. we were like wth! and yuting pulled her away lmao.

i got asked twice if i'm from thailand too. and then 2 different ahjummas pushed me away, like their hands were on my arm and they just forcefully pushed me aside. i almost fell :( these aunties are damn strong, i bet they can lift weights!

the hanwoo (korean beef) we wanted to eat. but the chinese (from china) ahjumma was so forceful about everything. kept pulling us into the shop and then keep persuading us to buy the meat. we jsut ran out of the shop haha

sorry not many pictures. was busy shopping haha and in the day it's too hot, you just don't want to stay in the open for too long. T_T took a bus back to dorm. sooo tired now. already packed some stuff and we are sending them back to singapore on thursday. starting to feel the emotions rushing in now. don't wanna leave mu-ak dorm :( don't wanna leave seoul :(
